Additional time to enjoy life and success - famous myths dispelled !

A favorite argument of those, who advocate for living “extra” life at the expense of sleep, is the reference to legends who slept  4 to 5 hours:  Bonaparte Napoleon, Thomas Edison, Winston Churchill, Leonardo Da Vinchi and many others.
However, with deeper exploration of their life, especially through the prism of

memories of their relatives, friends, comrades and colleagues, it is becoming apparent, that they all had ‘cat-naps’ during the whole day and/or had many symptoms of insufficient sleep.
Napoleon had short sleeps throughout all day, even during the Waterloo, while riding a horse. Sometimes he was so exhausted, so that his comrades had hard time to “get him to his horse”. Some historians attributed some non-effective or fatal decisions of Napoleon to his constant sleepiness.   Edison’s friends had evidenced that he often fell asleep while talking!   Winston Churchill wrote that he needed to take a complete nap every afternoon – in the bed and fully undressed.
One way or another, you have to pay for your ‘sleep debt’. You brain and body get the best recovery if you ensure your sleeping cycles are not broken - by following well-recognized hints, tips and the sleep hygiene.
